Cooking for Wellness: High on the Hog

A new four-part series exploring African American cuisine. We will draw inspiration and discussion from Netflix’s new docuseries, High on the Hog. Chef Jason will create dishes inspired by ingredients brought to America during the time of enslavement and we will discuss the evolution of African American food since that time.

December 9: Lamb has deep roots throughout the continent of Africa. The ways to prepare it are as vast and varied as the African people themselves. We will teach you to master the lamb chop, a classic dish perfect for your holiday table.

Cooking for Wellness: Cook Along with Chef Mike at Savoir Cooking andSP-LOGO-SHORT-TAG Wine

In partnership with SourcePoint, where Delaware County residents will have priority seating. These classes are hands-on in the Savior kitchen with Chef Mike providing guidance. After creating the dish, you will be able to enjoy eating it with your fellow classmates. Participation is limited to 10 participants.

*Note this problem is in-person and will be located at Savoir Cooking & Wine

(28 N Liberty St, Powell, OH 43065).

December 14: Holiday Side Dishes

Cooking for Wellness: Recipe Renovation

We all have those beloved family recipes or old standbys that are tasty but not part of a cancer preventative diet. It is time to give these dishes a makeover! Each month Jason will challenge a fellow chef to come join him for a recipe renovation. Michelle Mills, RD, will judge each dish on its nutritional content and our social workers and YOU will judge them on taste. Which chef does it best? We can’t wait to find out!
